New technology expands the facility’s Orthopedic Robotic Surgery Department, helping surgeons perform more complex procedures with more precision
HOUSTON — May 5, 2022 — Houston Physicians’ Hospital, a leading surgical hospital located in Webster, Texas, announced the addition of the da Vinci Surgical System to its robotic surgery biomedical robotics services. The new system will be an addition to the hospital’s successful Mako robotic-arm system, allowing physicians to use robotic-assisted surgical procedures for gynecologic, urologic, general surgical and orthopedic procedures.

Houston Physicians’ Hospital has adopted the latest technology, including robotics, throughout the facility as a way to support leading surgeons in providing outstanding patient care. The hospital recently opened a new wing, expanding its footprint to 87,500 square feet. With the new wing, the hospital now has 15 private in-patient rooms, a 12-bed observation unit, 18 preop beds, 24 post-anesthesia care unit beds, 11 operating room suites, two procedure rooms and two cath lab suites.
