WEBSTER, Texas — June xx, 2022 — Houston Physicians’ Hospital announced today that it is now the official health care provider for Dickinson ISD Athletics. The paid sponsorship provides Dickinson ISD athletes with a full-time sports trainer and a Houston Physicians’ Hospital doctor on the sidelines at the games in case a student-athlete gets injured.
“As part of our continuing commitment to our community, we are so excited about being the official health care provider for Dickinson ISD Athletics,” said Heather Womack, CEO, Houston Physicians’ Hospital. “Leveraging one of our area’s leading orthopedic sports medicine programs, children participating in athletics within Dickinson ISD will get the care the pros get on the sidelines at every athletic event. Athletes need very specialized care when it comes to the prevention and treatment of injuries and conditions, and we’re proud to provide that care.”
The Sports Medicine program at Houston Physicians’ Hospital focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating sports-related injuries that are caused by rigorous exercise or sporting accidents of all ages, including those suffered by children and adolescents participating in organized youth activities. The program combines general medical expertise with specialized orthopedic knowledge to provide expert musculoskeletal care, i.e., care for injuries involving damage to the muscles, bones, cartilage, and joints.
